Conscious Listening

[Juice magazine] Confucius said that if you wish to know if a kingdom is well governed, if the morals of its inhabitants are good or bad, you just have to look to the music that is current there.
Plato goes further to say that music is a moral law that gives soul to the universe, wings to the mind, flight to the imagination, and charm and gaiety to life and everything else. He also said that music is the movement of sound to reach the soul for the education of its virtue.
Friedrich Nietzsche on the other hand, simply believes that without music, life would be a mistake.
But are we consciously listening? What does conscious listening ‘look like’, how did we lose that innate ability through the age of mankind, and how do we get it back?

[Juice magazine] How have local music collectives grew over the years? From the heydays of Frontallabs, Guerilla Collective and Trance Republic, and to the present burgeoning dance music scene with Syndicate, Electrocaïne, Midnight Shift and Bedsty to name a few, I took a look at the game, and discovered that we are indeed playing on a bigger board.
