The Cranberries

Apr 2, 8pm
If the Irish rock band’s sold-out concert in Singapore late last year was anything to go by, the quartet will probably get the same reception this time around. Although last year’s technical glitches lingers in some of the attendees’ memory, Dolores and band will be hell bent on putting on a similar powerful performance. With their sixth studio album Roses released earlier this year, expect new materials on top of classics like “Zombie”, “Free to Decide” and “Salvation”.

STAY feat. Bang Gang DJs
Avalon l $25
Nov 2, 10pm
Australia’s Modular Recordings stable of cutting-edge and inventive artists, DJs and producers are some of the most sought-after around. This includes the Bang Gang DJs -a group of six or more DJs depending on their tour schedule and mood.
The last time they came around Doom and Hoodrat made a mess of the dancefloor (in a good way) with their favourable indie-disco, electro, techno and house selections.
This time, Hoodrat will hold solo court. A similar type of riot is speculated to ensue at Avalon’s staple mid-week party, STAY.
Local indie dance queen Ginette Chittick opens the night.

Above & Beyond
Zouk l $38 includes two drinks
Oct 25, 10pm
The number of times I caught Jono Grant, Paavo Siljamäki and Tony McGuinness “live”, I am pretty sure they should have gotten their hands on a Singapore permanent residency by now. For those who haven’t (or can’t get enough,) the trio lands on the grand dame once again, this time for a Deepavali eve special. Fresh off the release of their second studio album Group Therapy, catch the trance DJ-producers drop blazing charters like “Sun & Moon”, “You Got to Go” and “Sun in Your Eyes” on top their other dancefloor anthems. It looks like this is going to be a riot with A&B and trance fans expected to populate the club to the brim.
