Blog: Tonight I Will Stroll Through Hell With Judas Priest & Lamb of God

It has been awhile since I’ve been to a metal gig. The last time was at the Substation in the late 90s. While moshing with two other people was fun, this one will be on another level altogether. I trust that I can live up to the expectations of both Lamb of God and Judas Priest playing later tonight. I should wear black. That’s like the ethically correct colour to wear for such occasions, right?
Though I have to admit that my moshing days are numbered (busted knee, always posing a problem that knee), I am giving myself the chance to savour the melodies emitted from face-smacking-chords at its finest.
Contrary to popular belief, many people think that metal is associated with Satanism. That’s what they said about David Copperfield and also Justin Bieber. But both can’t play a guitar as well as Mark Morton or Glenn Tipton.
To be frank, I don’t care if it’s heavy, trash, black, death or alloy metal. Satanism, similar to creationism and Snow White & The Seven Dwarfs, are born out of fear-mongering (while the latter is the result of Malusdomesticaphobia -phobia of apples.)
The bands performing tonight are technically gifted, and are living legends in their own right. Lamb of God’s bassist, John Campbell is a really down-to-earth guy over the phone, and I am pretty excited to catch Judas Priest last ever tour.
So, black yes?
