Review: A Little Bit of Heaven
[inSing] If there’s anything that Kate Hudson should be typecast in, it would be in the department of awkward and ironic characters set in a messy situation.
In Something Borrowed, she is Darcy who treats her best friend Rachel like a punching bag, steals her crush Dex, marries him and ended up with Rachel sleeping with him and keeping secrets. In My Best Friend’s Girl as Alexis, she’s breaks up with well-natured Dustin who hires his roommate Tank to help them get back together. But as Kate Hudson would have it, her character Alexis falls in a complicated romantic situation with Tank.

Esplanade Concert Hall l $40-128 from Sistic
Sep 21, 8.30pm
Li Lykke Timotej Zachrisson goes by the stage name of Lykke Li which is easier on the ear. But the 25-years-old Swedish indie pop sensation has always been easy on the ear with her distinctive melodious and child-like vocal prowess. A mash of Adele, Florence Welch and occasionally up in Janis Joplin’s alley, the singer-songwriter blend of indie rock layered through electronica sensibilities has gotten her heavy appraisals especially after her 2008 debut album Youth Novels and the recent Wounded Rhymes.

Who is Catherine Boyd? I am.
The Who is? I am. series is a collection of stories based on fictitious characters. I take inspirations from bits and pieces of real personalities and character traits of people that I have met, walked over, or both. However, any resemblance to real persons, living or dead is purely coincidental and perhaps, a miracle. That includes animals.

With a cigarette clamped loosely between her fingers, she reaches out for the wine glass filled with a sip worth of Merlot. Her trembling hand hovers over the glass, threatening to turn it into an ashtray.
